17th February 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We were told the practice used models, leaflets and booklets to help explain and demonstrate treatments available to patients. Patients were encouraged to ask questions in order to be able to make informed choices before providing written consent.

We saw there was emergency equipment on the premises such as oxygen and emergency drugs.

One patient told us; “The staff are all very lovely and helpful. We are really pleased with things, really happy. They are really nice people offering a good friendly service.”

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk of infection. The practice had a dedicated decontamination room which was located on the first floor.

Posters were displayed in all areas demonstrating the correct hand washing techniques.

One member of staff told us; “We are very supported by the team. We have regular contact with the dentists regarding support and supervision.”

We found there were robust systems in place to monitor the quality and effectiveness of the service provided for patients.
