28th April 2014 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

This was a follow up visit to check that the provider had achieved compliance with the regulations regarding infection control following our previous inspection in September 2013. During this inspection we looked at all this one outcome.

We spoke with the principle dentist and other dental staff. However, we did not speak with patients during this inspection visit because no appointments had been made for the morning surgeries.

We found that patients and staff were protected by robust arrangements regarding infection control management.

5th September 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with four patients who attended this practice. They told us that they were very happy with the service provided. They felt they were given enough information about their treatment options and the relevant fees. They also told us they could ask questions and did not feel rushed. Patients told us they were always treated with respect.

We saw that the treatment options discussed with patients were recorded in their dental care records. We saw completed treatment plans with costings.

There were safeguarding adults and child protection policies and procedures but staff training was not in place.

There were infection control policies and procedures in place and we were shown decontamination procedures. However staff training,in infection control was not in place.

There was a complaints procedure in place and patients were aware of how to complain. Patients told us they had not had the need to do so.
