People we spoke with told us that they were very happy with the service and treatments they received at Oak Dental. They told us that their treatments were explained to them in a way that they could understand and that their consent to care and treatment was sought.

We saw that there were appropriate policies and arrangements for obtaining people's consent to the care and treatment they received.

People received safe and appropriate care and treatment. Regular oral health assessments were carried out and advice about diet, alcohol and smoking cessation was provided. Staff were trained to deal with medical emergencies and there were appropriate emergency medicines including oxygen, which were regularly checked to ensure that they were available as needed.

The premises were clean and there were arrangements for protecting people and staff against the risk of infections. Re-usable dental instruments were cleaned and sterilised appropriately. Cleaning and sterilising equipment was regularly checked and serviced in line with manufacturer's instructions to ensure that they were working efficiently.

Staff were provided with appropriate training and development opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills. Staffs' performance was regularly appraised and areas for development were identified and suitable training was sourced and provided.

The quality and safety of services provided were regularly monitored and improved where needed.
