20th March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection of Oralcare on 20 March 2013, we found the practice was visibly clean, welcoming and displayed clear information for people.

We spoke with three people who told us they were very happy with the care received at the practice. One person told us how they had a bad experience at a previous dentist and that their trust had now been restored since attending Oralcare.

We reviewed six people’s records which showed the assessments undertaken and relevant treatment plans were in place. The records included advice for maintaining oral health that had been given to people and a record of their medical history.

The practice had comprehensive infection control policies and procedures in place and the staff we spoke with were able to demonstrate their knowledge of these.

Staff felt supported and were able to discuss matters at any time with the Practice Manager or dentist, and we saw evidence of continuous training relevant to their roles.

We saw that the practice had effective processes in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service provided including feedback from the people using the service.
