1st October 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with two people who use the service, three members of staff and the principal dentist, who was the registered manager and provider.

We viewed five people’s records and found that people had signed where necessary giving consent to treatment.

People said they were happy with the care and treatment they received and that the dentists took time to explain the treatments available so they could make an informed choice. We saw a sample of satisfaction questionnaires that we were told were given to new people using the service. We saw that the comments were positive, such as “really impressed with staff and value for money”, another person commented, “I feel completely safe”.

People told us they had come to the practice through recommendations from friends and family.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The surgery rooms and the decontamination room were clean, adequately maintained and Infection control guidelines were being followed by staff.

The practice was being staffed appropriately to meet the needs of the people using the service.

People said they would be confident to raise any concerns they might have so they could be addressed.
