14th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our visit we spoke with six people who had received treatment at the practice. We also spoke with five members of staff who held different roles. The people we spoke with were positive about their treatment. Their comments included, “Very good, they are good with the kids too, take their time”, “They are very flexible” and “Fantastic, very good if you are nervous”.

People told us that they had always been given a full explanation of proposed treatment and we saw completed consent and treatment plans signed by the person.

Systems were in place for good hygiene and decontamination processes and we found these had been followed. People told us they had always found the practice clean and tidy and staff had used disposable equipment as needed.

We found staff had received the training and support they had needed to undertake their role effectively and to learn about changes to good practice guidance.

Records were up to date, clear and stored confidentially. We found that staff had a good knowledge of their role in maintaining confidentiality.
