4th February 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

The service was on the first floor of a leased, shared premises with walking access only. There were three surgeries, a reception area, a sterilising room, and a toilet. All areas were visibly clean and well equipped. The practice carried out a wide range of private dental treatments, and NHS treatments for children. On the day of our inspection there were two dentists, a hygienist and four nurses working at the practice. We spoke with two people that used the service. One told us “I feel comfortable here and it is very pleasant. Treatment options are given. It is clean and tidy. I have no concerns and I would recommend the practice”. Another person told us "Staff are pleasant and helpful and keep me informed. They explain treatment options. I am happy with the service".

We found that before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. We found that care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that ensured people's safety and welfare and the premises was appropriate and safe, and that the required safety procedures were in place. The service had robust procedures in place for staff recruitment and support and the provider had an effective quality assurance system in place so that people's feedback on the service was listened to and acted upon.
