16th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

As part of the inspection we spoke with three people who used the service. We were told: "I have no complaints at all" and "They are a skilled and professional team."

We looked at the care records of five people who used the service. These showed us that peoples’ treatment had been discussed with them, and where necessary copies of their treatment plans provided.

During our visit we observed staff treating people in a kind, professional, friendly and respectful manner. The three people we spoke with told us that all the staff at the service were very helpful, pleasant and always explained everything to them in relation to their treatments and aftercare.

Appropriate personal protective equipment was available in all areas of the service. We saw there were systems in place to ensure people were cared for in a clean and hygienic environment. We also saw that a variety of audits were carried out. These included annual surveys.

We saw that where appropriate, staff were registered with the General Dental Council and comprehensive records of continuing development activities were maintained.
