22nd November 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We saw that before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes.

We found clear evidence in the four patient records we reviewed of admission assessments and a core care plan. We spoke with five patients who told us that they were well looked after. One patient told us, "I’m very happy with the service here.”

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. We found Peterborough Renal Unit to be visibly clean and that the treatment areas were uncluttered.

Staff we spoke with told us that there seemed to be good staffing levels. We found that there were appropriate numbers of staff who were skilled and experienced to meet the needs of the patients.
