7th January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We were unable to speak with people using the service as none were booked to attend at the time of the inspection. We have therefore used people's written feedback to the provider to assist us in making our judgements.

People had rated the service highly and were satisfied with the care and treatment provided. A detailed medical and dental history was taken for each person and any allergies or medical conditions were recorded on the person's dental record. There was emergency equipment available and staff had attended training annually.

People were provided with sufficient information to make an informed decision about their treatment. They were given an explanation of the treatment options available to them during their consultation, and this was supplemented by leaflets and a written treatment plan.

People received care and treatment that ensured their safety and welfare from staff who received appropriate professional development. There were systems in place to reduce the spread of infection and we saw reusable instruments were sterilized in accordance with recommended guidelines.
