6th March 2014 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

On this occasion, we did not speak with people using the service as part of our inspection. We found the provider had made improvements to ensure suitable infection control practices were followed in the surgery and that there were suitable procedures for the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children.

17th October 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People we spoke with were satisfied with the dental treatment provided by the practice. One person said they had been with the surgery for around twenty years and never had any reason to complain. They said they were never rushed and the dentist “always explains the issues, and my treatment.” Another person said, “I wouldn’t be coming here if I didn’t like it.”

We found that the people who used the service were involved in their care planning and received treatment which was based on an assessment of their needs. Clinical records were stored securely. However, we found that appropriate infection control practices were not followed in all cases and there was a lack of suitable procedures to ensure that vulnerable people were protected from the risk of abuse.
