18th October 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We saw evidence of how the provider used patient surveys and feedback to inform improvements to the service. We saw the feedback was entirely complimentary about the quality of care provided to patients.

We spoke with five people who were attending for examination and/or treatment at the time of our visit. They told us “This is a brilliant practice I’ve been to others but this is by far the best”. Another person said “I found the practice on the internet. I’ve been impressed so far.” Another patient told us they had noticed that the waiting room and reception areas were significantly improved since their previous visits to the practice. They said "the waiting area is more light and airy and comfortable since it was redone."

We saw that the practice had a system for gaining consent and that treatment consent forms were consistently completed. Clear written information was provided to people about their treatment options and the various costs involved.

We saw people's medical and dental health needs were accurately documented in their records. Medical information that could impact on people’s treatment was kept up to date.

The practice was clean and hygienic and followed appropriate infection control procedures.

Staff told us they were happy at work and felt well supported by management. Staff were offered appropriate training to enhance their knowledge and skills.
