3rd January 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

For this inspection, we were not able to speak with people using the service as the service was operated from mobile imaging units located across the country. We gathered evidence of how the service was meeting each standard by speaking with staff, reviewing documentation and looking at the report based on 103 responses to the service’s patient satisfaction survey carried out between July and September 2012. We found that 98% of people rated their care at the service as good to excellent and 100% would recommend the service to friends and family.

During our review of people's records we found that a clinical history and protocol for treatment was recorded for each individual. Any risk factors specific to them were reviewed and recorded. We saw that arrangements were in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies including the provision of relevant staff training. We found that radiographers working at the service were appropriately registered and that staff were receiving supervision and appraisal and were knowledgeable in such things as protecting people from the risk of abuse.

We found that the service had quality monitoring systems in place and people had a variety of methods available for them to share their views and opinions about the service. We noted that where actions to prevent the recurrence of incidents or changes to improve the service were required these were completed.
