Robin Smith Dental Practice offered NHS treatment to children and private treatment for adults. We spoke with two patients who were visiting the practice during our inspection they told us they were happy with the service provided. One patient told us: “I would highly recommend this dentist, the staff are professional and friendly, the practice is well run and well managed-I’d say it’s very well run.” Another patient told us: “The practice is excellent; it’s clean, has friendly, professional staff and efficiently run.”

Patients told us that the dental practice was well presented and that the surgeries were always very clean and tidy when they attended.

Two of the patients who had attended the practice told us they had received dental treatment. When asked about their treatment and the advice they were given they told us they were appropriately consulted and informed about the treatment options. Patients also said they had consented to the treatment provided and were given appropriate after care advice following treatment.

We saw that there were various audits that took place to check on the quality of the service provided to patients to ensure they were of good quality. We found examples of where improvements were made to the service as a direct result of listening to patient’s views, which included any patient’s comments or surveys.

We found that the complaints procedure clearly outlined what patients should do in the event of a complaint.
