We spoke with three people who used the dental service and all confirmed they were very pleased with the service they received from Rowtree Dental Surgery. They told us they were fully informed about their treatment options by the dentist. We spoke with two dental nurses who confirmed that the dentist fully explained the individual treatment requirements to people. They also said the dentists adapted their style when explaining the treatment to children using the service, to allay any anxiety and make their dental experience pleasant.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk of cross infection.

The patient records were stored on the practice electronic data base and updated on each visit.

We looked at records of staff recruitment and found that staff recruitment procedures had not included dental nursing and reception staff having obtained clearance through the Home Office Disclosure and Barring Service.
