29th October 2012 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

Prior to completing our inspection of the dental practice we reviewed the action plan that the provider had sent us in response to our concerns.

We carried out an inspection of the practice and observed what changes had been made.

We spoke with a member of staff and the nominated individual for the service and discussed with them the planned improvements to the practice.

27th September 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We used a number of different methods to help us reach a judgement on this service. These including talking with patients using the service, members of the staff team, observation and looking at records.

We spoke with three patients and three members of staff.

We also looked at records. These included care plans, records of meetings and information about how the service operated. We also looked at information from surveys undertaken by the provider to assess the quality of service.

Patients we spoke with said they were happy with the care and support they received, felt it was delivered in a safe way and that the practice was clean and hygienic. They told us that the dentists and staff offered them advice and explained the options available to them.

One patient told us, “Its fine. I would highly recommend it to anyone.”

We observed members of staff wore practice uniform and we witnessed them interacting with patients in a courteous, polite and understanding manner

People were cared for in a clean environment but the systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection with reusable equipment were not sufficient.
