31st January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During this inspection visit we spoke with the principal dentist, two dental nurses and the practice manager. We also spoke with three people who used the service. All the people we spoke with were positive about their care and treatment. One person said, "I have already recommended this practice to others. I am very pleased and I think the dentist is brilliant." Another person using the service told us, "it is an absolutely excellent service and the dentist is excellent too."

People were provided with the information they needed and were spoken with in a respectful manner.

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. People told us they were always asked about their medical history and consulted about their dental treatment plan.

There were policies and practices in place to prevent cross infection and maintain hygiene.

Staff received appropriate training, supervision and support in order to carry out their roles and responsibilities.

People using the service were informed about how to make a complaint and the provider had a system for investigating and resolving any complaints.
