17th October 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We were able to speak with two people who used this practice. They were complimentary about the service provided. We also found out what people thought of the practice by reviewing the results of a patient satisfaction survey completed in June 2011.

One person said “He (the dentist) is very thorough. He explains the cost to me. He gives me a copy of the treatment plan. He also shows me everything on the computer. He listens and is very approachable”. Another person explained how they had followed the dentist to this practice as they had confidence in him.

Comments the practice received as a result of their patient satisfaction survey included "Thank you" and “Please don’t change anything!”

We watched how the staff dealt with people as they arrived. We saw staff were very friendly and polite, putting people at their ease. We saw from the results of the patient satisfaction survey 100% of patients agreed or strongly agreed the receptionist was friendly and helpful.

We saw there were safeguarding procedures in place. There was also on-going training and support for staff to help keep them up-to-date with best practice. One patient we spoke with commented they felt “comfortable and safe” at this practice.

The practice was clean and well maintained with good procedures in place to prevent cross infection. People we spoke with commented on how clean the surgery always was and were complimentary about recent environmental improvements.
