15th February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We found that the service was very well run with policies and procedures in place to ensure people who used the service were kept well informed. Staff were trained and supported to provide a high level of service to people who used this dental practice.

People who used the service were happy with the care and treatment they received. One person said, "they provide a very good service." Another person said, "I am very happy with the care and treatment." People we spoke to expressed confidence in the dentists.

We saw that people were treated with dignity and respect by the staff at the service. Feedback received from people was positive about their experience. Systems were in place to capture feedback and use this feedback to improve services.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. Staff were able to demonstrate good practices in relation to infection control and were knowledgeable regarding infection control and decontamination procedures for equipment and instruments used.

The practice had policies and checks in place in relation to the recruitment of staff. We saw that the staff were knowledgeable, appropriately trained and well supported.
