4th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

The practice is led by dental surgeon Miss Julie Elston. There was a practice manager who also worked as a dental nurse, plus another dental nurse, two dental nurse trainees a receptionist and two cleaners.

We spoke with three people who used the service. People said that they were very happy with the service provided and that they saw the dentist on a regular basis. They told us the dentist always explained what they were doing, what they had found during the examination and what the treatment options were. One person told us, “I am very happy with my care.” They also said, “Staff are polite and helpful.”

We found that people were treated with respect and arrangements were in place so that people could speak to staff in private if required.

We found that care was delivered in a clean environment, and the practice met the required standards for decontamination of dental instruments in primary care dental practices.

There was a range of equipment available to meet the requirements of the practice and arrangements were in place to ensure it was safe to use.

Staff had received appropriate training and were supported to carry out their roles.

The quality of the service was monitored and reviewed on a regular basis.
