13th December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with three people who had been treated at Sk:n Northampton and they all told us that they were very pleased with the results of their treatment. One person said “all the staff are lovely, you can ask them any questions, and I love coming here”. Another person told us “I’m very happy with my treatment I have had a lovely result”.

We found that treatment was provided in a clean comfortable environment and that infection prevention measures were in place which ensured the safety of people using the service.

We saw that regular audits had been completed which ensured the ongoing quality of the service.

We found the service to be well managed.

22nd February 2013 - During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

We reviewed the improvements the manager had made to the management of medicines and assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision. We found that an out of date emergency medicine had been replaced with a new emergency medicine. This was to make sure that if someone had a severe reaction to other medicines used at the clinic, they were able to receive emergency medicine that was in date and worked properly.

The manager had also made changes to the system of assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision. We found that systems were put in place to make sure that medical professionals had provided a copy of their most recent medical appraisal. We also found that the manager had completed a medicines check to make sure that all medicines stored at the clinic were in date and safe to use by people who used the service.

13th November 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with two people who used the service. They both told us that they were pleased with the treatment they had received at SK:N Northampton. They said that they had received an assessment of their needs with the staff before they received their treatment. This was to make sure that any treatment given was in line with their individual requirements.

One person told us that the staff explained to them that they needed additional tests to be completed. This was so that they had reassurance that their condition would not affect their health. They also told us that the staff had explained to them the treatments that were available to them and included the risks and benefits of each treatment. This was so they could make an informed choice about the treatment that best suited their needs.

People we spoke with also told us that they had received information about how to look after their skin once they had received the treatment. This was so they could make sure that their skin was well looked after and kept healthy.
