10th January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with three people who had been treated at Sk:n Portsmouth and they all told us that they were very pleased with the results of their treatment. One person said "they really explained to me the treatment and everything that I needed to know. I chose this place because I know they are good. ” Another person told us "I'm very happy with my treatment I have had a lovely result".

We found that treatment was provided in a clean comfortable environment and that infection prevention measures were in place which ensured the safety of people using the service.

We found that the staff were appropriately trained and supported and that people we spoke with were aware of how to make complaints. We found that people's written records were kept securely and were located promptly when needed.

1st February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

As part of our inspection, we asked people who used the service about their experiences and reviewed client feedback systems. People described the service as 'thorough' and stated that they trusted the advice provided. They said that treatments were fully described to them and costs, benefits and risks were explained to them prior to treatment. We were told that an assessment was made of progress prior to treatment each visit.

One person told us that the nurse had a 'nice manner' and made sure treatment suited her needs.

We saw that people were treated with respect and involved and supported in decisions about their treatment. Treatment was carried out in a private room and there was evidence that individual needs had been assessed with patients and included in their treatment plans.

Patients were protected from abuse and staff respected their human rights and were cared for by staff with the right knowledge, qualifications and skills to support people. The clinic had systems in place to monitor the quality of the service and used the views of people attending the service to make improvements.
