6th December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with three people who were attending for examination and/or treatment on the day of our inspection. They told us they were satisfied with the quality of the care provided to them. One person said, “The staff at this practice are very easy and accommodating, they provide really good care. I’m at ease the whole way through.” Another person told us, “I’m totally happy with the practice they are really good with me and my children.”

We saw people's medical and dental health needs were accurately documented in their records and their medical history was updated at each visit. One person told us "The dentist always checks that I am well and my medication has remained the same since my last visit."

We found the practice to be clean and satisfactorily maintained. Staff were following effective infection control procedures. People we spoke with commented, "The practice is always lovely and clean", "it's spotless" and "staff always look clean and smart".

The practice had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received. During our visit we saw evidence that the practice was undertaking regular checks and audits. We saw there was a robust and accessible complaints procedure that was routinely followed by staff.

Staff told us they felt well supported by management and were offered appropriate training at regular intervals. Staff attended regular practice meetings and were appraised annually.
