6th March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We carried out this inspection to check on the care and welfare of people using this service. Our visit was discussed and arranged one day in advance. This was to ensure that we had time to see and speak with the staff who worked at the practice, as well as people registered with the service.

People who received care and treatment at this practice paid private charges only. We heard from patients that the treatment could be arranged at a time convenient to them. They told us they were given treatment planning time to consider their options and the cost involved.

People we spoke with told us that they were happy with the care they received. Some people told us that the whole family attended including their relatives, neighbours and friends. One person told us, “The practice runs very efficiently, it’s a great experience. I trust all the staff to look after me, I feel safe in their hands”.

People we spoke with told us that the new premises were always immaculate and pleasant to visit. They told us that they were very satisfied with the standards of cleanliness. We saw that the standards of hygiene and infection control practices in place were those required by legislation.

The practice had been a member of the British Dental Association (BDA) for over 12 years. In 2012 they were 'runner up' in the BDA Good Practice – Practice of the Year award.
