8th April 2014 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made

We did not speak to people who used the service at this visit. We found that South Street Dental Practice was now compliant in the regulation we examined against.

30th January 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

As part of our inspection on this dental practice we spoke with three people who used the service and five members of staff working at the service, including the practice manager and the lead dentist for the surgery.

People who regularly visited the dental practice told us that they were very happy with the treatment and care they received there. They were complimentary about the dentist who treated them and told us they had no complaints with the practice at all. One person told us: "They are brilliant. Really, really helpful.” Another person said: “It’s lovely. Really nice. The girls are really nice and so is the dentist.”

Staff we spoke with said they were happy working at the practice and told us they felt supported. They described being part of a team and told us they felt the practice was run well. One staff member commented that: “I feel supported in every way.”

We looked at treatment records, observed treatment being given and reviewed the policies and procedures in place at the practice. We found that there staff were not receiving regular supervisions and appraisals and that training was not being monitored by the provider. We did not find any concerns with the care and treatment being delivered to people using the service.
