11th December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our visit we spoke with the dentist, the dental hygienist, the practice manager, members of staff and four patients.

Patients were very positive in their comments about the practice. One patient said: "A very good service, they always arrange appointments to suit my working day".

We observed staff interacting with patients in a friendly but professional way. Reception staff were very polite and always gave choice of appointments to patients.

We saw that the practice had a robust infection control policy and staff told us that they worked to the policy. We saw that contamination control, described as essential to the safety of patients, was included in the practice policy and statement of purpose. The design, layout and security of the premises were fit for purpose and met the needs of patients who received care and treatment at the practice.

Patients who used the service were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted on. Details of procedures for making comments and complaints were supplied to patients using the practice in the form of a practice information leaflet.
