We spoke with nine people who used St Mary's Dental Practice to gain their experiences of the service they received. People we spoke with included new patients, people who had received extensive treatment, people who were nervous about visiting the dentist, and those who had attended the practice over a number of years.

People shared positive experiences of their care and treatment. Comments included,

"The new dentist is very nice. They are very gentle. They make you feel relaxed”. And "I have already recommended them to friends and family”.

People told us their treatment options were fully discussed with them. This enabled them to make an informed decision about their treatment and whether they wanted to go ahead with the dental work recommended.

People received their treatment in a clean and hygienic environment. We saw the practice had effective arrangements for the safe management of infection control. Staff had received training to reduce the risk of cross infection.

People considered the staff were competent and knowledgeable in their work. Staff told us they were engaged in continuous professional development and had appropriate professional registrations.

Quality assurance systems were in place to monitor and review the quality of the service provided.
