30th January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People who used the service understood the care and treatment choices available to them. One person said "the dentist explains and shows you the treatments and why they are needed." Another person told us "he is good, he always explains what he is doing and why he is doing it. Yes I can ask questions about the treatment."

We found that treatment had been planned and delivered in a way that ensured people’s safety and welfare. People told us they were happy with the treatment they received from the dentist. Comments included "I was always very nervous to go to the dentist but I feel very relaxed with M." Another person said "he really puts me at ease and is very careful about treatment. I have recommended him to friends." We saw that people had treatment plans in place.

There were clear safeguarding policies and procedures for staff to follow if they suspected any abuse. We found that there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection and staff had received appropriate training and professional development.
