27th February 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke to a person who had used the service who told us that their treatment had been explained to them. We looked at the results of recent patient feedback to which 11 people had responded. In this all respondents indicated that their treatment options had been explained to them in a way that they could understand and that they felt involved in decisions about their care. In the comments section one person stated that they had received a "full explanation" of their treatment.

When people first attended they were asked to complete a medical history form. This asked for relevant information about medical conditions and any allergies that people had. There were arrangements in place for the practice to be contacted out of hours and for urgent appointments to be made if people needed it. In the patient feedback all respondents said that they would "definitely" recommend the practice or that they already had done so.

People were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had been followed. Staff received appropriate professional development.

The provider had a system in place to monitor the risks within the practice environment and took appropriate action to mitigate them. There was a system in place to monitor the quality of care and treatment they provided.
