15th October 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We carried out this inspection to check on the care and welfare of people using this service. Our inspection was discussed and arranged two days in advance. This was to ensure that we had time to see and speak with staff working at the practice, as well as people registered with the service.

People receiving care and treatment from this practice paid independently, contributed to a dental payment scheme or accessed their dentistry through NHS costs. The practice had a current contract with the NHS to provide NHS dental care to people.

We saw evidence to demonstrate treatment could be arranged at a convenient time, and people told us they did not experience any lengthy delays. People could consider their treatment options and any costs involved and did not have to make a decision immediately.

Everyone we spoke with told us they were happy with the service and would recommend the practice to family and friends. Some of those people also told us about the opinions of others in their family and how their children were treated, these comments were also positive. People we spoke with had used the practice since it had opened and one person told us, “The staff here always treat us well, and let us know what they’re doing.” Another person said, “I don’t feel anxious coming here, I’ve had bad experiences in the past but they treat me well here and I no longer get scared.”
