22nd August 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with three people who use the service during our inspection. They told us they were satisfied with the service provided and felt safe and well cared for by the staff team. One person told us “I have confidence in the staff, they are very professional.” Another person said “The nurses and dentists are really good at putting my children at ease. I would recommend them.” One person told us “They make good and impressive use of their intra-oral camera. They show me what they can see and explain in detail what my options are.”

We saw from the records consent was sought from people appropriately before any treatment began. Records showed us the practice provided clear information to people about their treatment options and the various costs involved. People's medical and dental health needs were accurately documented. Medical information was updated at each visit.

We saw the practice was clean and hygienic and the staff followed appropriate infection control procedures. People told us staff always wore protective equipment such as gloves, goggles and visors when providing care and treatment.

Staff told us they felt well supported by management and were offered appropriate training at frequent intervals. People using the service were protected in emergencies because staff were trained in first aid and had access to emergency medication and equipment.
