22nd May 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke to three patients and observed one of the dentists undertake a dental procedure during our visit.

We saw staff were welcoming and they interacted well with patients when they attended the surgery.

One patient told us they had received good information regarding the treatment they had received and they felt the dentist listened to any anxieties or concerns they may have had.

We spoke to three patients who told us they had discussions with the dentist in the privacy of the surgery.

We found an effective appointment system in operation during our visit. We observed patients making other appointments before leaving the surgery. The practice manager told us they provided patients with a reminder text to identify when their appointment was due. One patient said, “I find the text service very helpful.”

We found the surgery to be clean and tidy. The staff were knowledgeable on how the decontamination process worked and why these procedures had to be followed.

Patients said they felt comfortable with the staff whilst undergoing their treatment and they thought the staff were very confident in their work.

There were effective systems in place to monitor the quality and effectiveness of the practice.
