24th October 2013 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

During our inspection in June 2013 we found that the provider had not met the regulations around emergency equipment, infection control, staffing and information on complaints.

We found that the provider had appropriate emergency equipment that could be used in an emergency.

We observed that the provider had developed appropriate cleaning schedules.

We saw that information that related to staff was up to date and that patients could access information on how to make a complaint.

19th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

As part of our inspection we spoke to six people who had used the service, two members of staff and one radiographer who operated the MRI scanner. All of the patients that we spoke with were happy with their experience at the clinic. One person told us “It was all I expected and I have no complaints about it.”

We saw that the clinic had information on MRI scans for patients. This was available to patients sitting in the waiting area. We also observed that staff ensured that patients were asked about their medical history before undergoing a scan.

The people that we spoke with told us that they felt staff treated them courteously and with respect. The relative of one person that we spoke with told us “They put him at ease, particularly as he was nervous.”

During our inspection we looked at the procedures the provider had in place that ensured that the clinic was kept clean and free from infection.

We discovered on the day of our visit that the provider had not complied with requirements that related to recruitment of staff. This meant that appropriate checks were not carried out.

All of the patients that we spoke with told us that they had never felt the need to complain. However we found that the clinic did not display a formal complaints procedure with appropriate information to patients.
