13th November 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During this visit, we spoke with four people who used the service, three members of staff, looked at three people's case records and the results of the survey questionnaires which the provider sent to people.

People we spoke with told us they were able to express their views and were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. One person said, “They always listen to me if I want to ask anything, they put me at ease here.” Another person told us, “I don’t like to lie fully back in the chair, I like to sit up and the dentist is OK with that. It’s not a problem for him, he works around me.”

People’s views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care.

All the people we spoke with spoke very highly about the staff who cared for them. Comments people made included; “The dentist is lovely, he is kindness himself, a super dentist” and “I would recommend it here, all the staff are really friendly.”

People we spoke with told us that the practice was always clean, tidy and they had no concerns with the standards of hygiene. People were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment.

People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff.

The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.
