14th November 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Patients we met at the Hand Clinic told us they were treated with privacy, dignity and respect. Patients said they were happy with the care they had received. One patient said: "the care they give you is great." Another said: "I was well prepared for the operation." We were told staff gave patients confidence and enabled them to make informed decisions about treatment. Patients said they felt their personal information was treated with confidentiality. They had not overheard or seen confidential information relating to another patient.

We found the clinic to be clean, uncluttered and well organised. Staff were properly supported, supervised and appraised. Records held by the clinic were stored securely and only accessible to those people authorised to see them. The records were clear, legible and fit for their intended purpose.
