20th May 2013 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

At our previous inspection we had found that essential standards were not being met with respect to requirements relating to workers. Appropriate checks were not undertaken before staff began work. During this inspection we checked that actions had been taken to address this.

We found the provider was carrying out the necessary checks before dentists and other staff started work. Dentists who could not provide the evidence required by the practice were no longer working there.

19th February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Patients who used the dental practice told us they were very happy with the service they received. One person we spoke with said it was “a lovely, friendly place. If I had any concerns I wouldn’t go there.” Patients said they were given enough information about their treatment. Options available and the associated costs were explained, and they were given enough time to make decisions about their treatment. Treatment was delivered according to the agreed plans and they received appropriate follow-up information. They told us the practice was kept clean and hygienic. One said, “It is immaculate, can’t be faulted”.

We found that people were involved in and understood the care and treatment choices available to them. They experienced effective, safe and appropriate care and treatment. The provider had effective systems in place to ensure that patients were cared for in a clean and hygienic environment. There were processes in place to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that patients received. However, the provider was not carrying out the necessary checks before dentists and other staff started work.
