6th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

When we visited The Montpellier Dental Practice we spoke to four patients, two dentists, two dental nurses and the receptionist. We found that people were treated with respect and kindness. Patients told us that they had been treated at the practice for more than 10 years and the options and costs were always explained to them.

Information leaflets were available about the practice and patients had completed quality surveys, which had been taken into consideration by the dentists when planning improvements. The surveys also included positive comments about the practice. Patients had a full dental assessment and their medical history, medication and allergies had been recorded.

Patients told us that the practice was always clean when they visited. We found that there were effective procedures for the decontamination of dental instruments.

We found that there were safeguarding procedures for children but not for vulnerable adults and that safeguarding contact details were incorrect.
