26th March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People told us it was easy to make appointments and they were able to choose when these were. One person told us "I never have to wait" and others confirmed that there was no problem with the appointment system and a reminder system using text and other messaging formats worked well. All five people told us staff were friendly and approachable and spoke to them in a respectful way. This was confirmed by our observations on the day. One person told us told us staff were friendly and approachable and another described the atmosphere in the practice as relaxed.

One person told us “This is the best dentist I’ve ever been to”, another said “I would recommend them to anyone” and others described the service as fine and first rate. We were told the service was very good and that appointments ran smoothly. People who were nervous about the dental treatment told us they found the team very reassuring. One person said “They really look after you”.

We saw that the provider had designated decontamination areas. We observed the operational decontamination techniques and saw that these met the essential standard requirements set out in the Department of Health publication 'Health Technical Memorandum' (HTM) 01-05 guidance.

We found people were encouraged to share their experiences about the service. They told us if they wanted to make a complaint about the service they would be listened to and given a courteous response.
