2nd May 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

One person told us, “This is my first visit, the service was highly recommended to me.” Another person told, “It’s just down the road to me so easily accessible and they had spaces.” One person told us that they had used the service for three years, and found the service to be “Very good and the staff are very friendly”. They told us that they had been “Fitted in” for an emergency appointment and that appointments generally ran on time.

People told us that they were consulted about the different treatment options and that they were able to make an informed choice before consenting to treatment. Records were accurate and provided a clear audit trail of treatments planned and carried out.

We found that systems were in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The surgery was clean and tidy and staff understood the cleaning procedures to be followed. Records showed that equipment was regularly maintained which ensured it was safe to be used. Staff were familiar with policies and procedures to follow if they believed a child or vulnerable adult was at risk of abuse. Staff received appropriate training and support to carry out their designated roles. Systems were in place to ensure the quality and safety of the service provided.
