14th January 2014 - During an inspection in response to concerns pdf icon

We found that the practice had a strong preventive ethos which was demonstrated by the use of a dental therapist who provided simple restorative work, gum treatments and preventive therapies. This was reinforced by the preventive approach adopted by the existing dentist whose primary concern was that of providing holistic individual dental care, with a strong preventive approach underpinning the care provided.

The patients we spoke with were happy with the standard of treatment they received and told us they had confidence in the staff team.

Quality monitoring systems were in place and any shortfalls identified within checks or audits were addressed. Staff and patients were enabled to comment on the quality of the service and influence service development.

Complaints were taken seriously and responded to appropriately.

All the records we viewed during this inspection were appropriately maintained and securely kept. Records were accurate and fit for purpose. Good record keeping supported the provision of safe and effective care and treatment.
