5th February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

On 5 February 2013, during our visit to The Tomlinson Avenue Orthodontic Centre, we spoke with four people receiving treatment that day and three parents of these people. All told us that they found the staff helpful and that they explained options helping people to make informed choices. People told us they were satisfied with the service they received.

One person told us, ‘‘Everything is explained well to me. I am happy with it.’’ This person’s mother told us she was pleased that the practice involved her in the discussions and explanations. A second person said, ‘‘They are very good, she always explains everything.’’ Another person said, ‘‘I’m very pleased, it’s excellent.’’

The surgery had sufficient processes in place to ensure that treatment was delivered safely. All areas were clean and tidy and there were robust infection control processes in place to ensure people were treated safely.

People told us that they would be confident in discussing any shortfall if it were necessary.
