27th March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Patients who used the dental practice told us they were satisfied with the service they received. One patient we spoke with said staff were “always very pleasant and helpful.” Patients said they were given enough information about their treatment and options available to them. They told us they were given enough time to make decisions about their treatment. One said in their experience it was “the best practice for giving information.” Treatment was delivered according to the agreed plans and they received appropriate follow-up information. They told us the practice was clean and hygienic. One said, “It is very nice, clean and tidy.”

We found that people were involved in and understood the care and treatment choices available to them. They experienced effective, safe and appropriate care and treatment. The provider had systems in place to ensure that patients were cared for in a clean and hygienic environment. There were systems in place to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that patients received. The provider was carrying out the necessary checks before staff started work.
