30th April 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke to three people who had used the service for a number of years. They told us they were given appropriate information and support regarding their treatment options and costs. They were positive about the care and treatment they received. They told us that appointments were flexible to meet their needs and the practice was accessible and clean. Some comments made were; -“This is an excellent service. I am an anxious patient and the dentist and nurses make me feel at ease.” “The dentist is good. They always explain things clearly.” “I have always had a good service here. I would definitely recommend to others.”

We found that there were practices in place to ensure that standards were maintained. Feedback from the people who used the service was gathered through surveys and a comments and suggestion box. The practice also had a clear complaint procedure. This ensured that the service was able to identify what was working well and were improvements were needed. We found checks of equipment had taken place at the recommended frequencies. This ensured that equipment was safe and fit for purpose.

We found that the people who used the service were given information around their treatment options and health care advice when needed. The surgeries and reception areas were clean. Records were held securely. Consultations and treatments took place in private.
