23rd January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People we spoke with said, ''I have had excellent treatment, I've been coming here for many years and the staff are always respectful and friendly. There were systems and facilities in place to allow discussions about treatment to ensure confidentiality and that people’s privacy and dignity were protected.

People had been risk assessed and we saw that each person was provided with a copy of their agreed plan of care. People we spoke with had been involved and provided with information to help them decide which treatment option they preferred. We observed that care was delivered by appropriately trained staff in a kind supportive and understanding manner. One person we spoke with said, 'look I'm smiling, I didn’t even know they had removed my tooth, I can go back to work.''

There were appropriate arrangements in place to effectively prevent and control infection. Decontamination processes were compliant with current regulations and guidance.

Staff were properly trained to provide safe and effective care to people using the service. We saw evidence that showed staff had been supported to obtain relevant qualifications and develop their skills.

The provider had systems in place to support people to make comments and complaints. We saw records that showed complaints had been responded to sensitively and in a timely manner.
