11th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our visit to Witney Brace Place we met with the practice manager and with both orthodontists. We spoke with five patients’ and the parents of four of the five. We also spoke with two members of staff.

All of the patients', and parents, we spoke with were very happy with their treatment. A patient told us "Yes I'm really happy. They (the staff) are good people". Patients’ also said they had received sufficient information to support their treatment. One of the patients said "Everything's explained as it went along. It's very reassuring". Another patient told us "Explanations of treatment are given at every appointment"

Patients’ received good advice to support their treatment. One of the patients’ we spoke with said "They (the orthodontist) is really good on hygiene advice. Sometimes my cleaning was not very good. I've been told where to concentrate"

Staff we spoke with were extremely happy in their jobs. We saw evidence that staff were very well trained to carry out their role and were given opportunities to increase their skills. One member of staff said "It's amazing, I get a huge amount of support".

The practice operated processes, and followed procedures, that minimised the risk and spread of infection because current guidelines were followed. The practice was very clean and tidy.
