4th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People who used this dental practice told us that they were very pleased with the quality of the service provided. One person told us “Dr X is wonderful. He is always concerned about people’s welfare." Another said “the dentist is welcoming and friendly and helped me to overcome my fears." People also told us that they were treated with respect and that treatments were clearly explained to them. One person said “he explains what is needed fully and why.” Another told us “they always explain things well and show you models. They give you options and professional advice.”

Suitable arrangements were in place for cleaning and sterilising dental equipment. We found that people were treated in a safe, clean and hygienic environment. People told us that they were happy with the cleanliness of the practice. One person said “the environment is good and always looks clean. They always wear gloves.”

Staff received the training and support needed to provide a safe and appropriate service that met people’s care and welfare needs. They were aware of their responsibility with regard to safeguarding any children or vulnerable adults who used the service.

People’s records were accurate and up to date providing information about the advice and treatment that they had received. Records were securely stored to ensure that patient confidentiality was maintained.
