10th December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We visited the service on 10 December 2013 as part of our scheduled inspection programme.

On the day of the inspection we spoke in person with one person and over the telephone with two people who used the service. We also spoke with the provider of the service who is the principal dentist, the practice manager and four members of staff.

Patients told us they were “More than satisfied” with the service and that staff were, "Friendly and professional." One person said, "This practice is absolutely excellent." Another person said, "All the staff are approachable and I am always seen on time."

People we spoke with told us they felt safe in the care of the dentist. They said that all members of the staff team acted in a professional manner.

Everyone commented on the cleanliness of the practice. People said they regularly saw staff making sure that the surgery was clean, tidy and hygienic. We found people received care and treatment in a clean environment with infection control measures in place to minimise the risk of infection.

Staff that we spoke with said they were very well supported by the registered provider to carry out their role. Staff said they were up to date with all mandatory training and we saw confirmation of this.

The provider had an appropriate system in place for gathering, recording and evaluating information about the quality and safety of care the service provided.
